Common Faults of No-Till Wheat Seeders and How to Fix Them
1. The overall seed metering device does not discharge seed. Causes: the seed box is empty, the transmission mechanism is not working, the drive wheel is slipping and not turning. Fill the seed box, inspect and adjust the transmission mechanism, and eliminate the cause of drive wheel slipping.
2. An individual seed metering unit does not discharge seed. Causes: the seed metering wheel clamp or key pin is loose and turning, the seed delivery tube or the seed drop opening is blocked. Re-tighten the seed metering wheel and clear the blockage in the seed delivery tube or seed drop opening.
3. Uneven seeding rate. Causes: large variations in operating speed, severe wear of the seed scraping tongue, loose clamp on the external grooved wheel, and changes in working width. Maintain a constant operating speed, replace the seed scraping tongue, adjust the working length of the external grooved wheel, and secure the clamp properly.
4. High seed breakage rate. Causes: operating speed too fast, resulting in high transmission speed; damaged seed metering device; seed metering wheel size or shape unsuitable; seed scraping tongue too close to the seed metering wheel. Reduce speed and operate at a constant rate, replace the seed metering device, switch to a suitable seed metering wheel (disc), and adjust the distance between the seed scraping tongue and the seed metering wheel.
5. Insufficient seeding depth. Causes: insufficient spring pressure on the furrow opener; deformed pull rod on the furrow opener, reducing the entry angle. Tighten the spring to increase furrow opener pressure; straighten the furrow opener pull rod to increase the entry angle.
6. Furrow opener clogged. Causes: the precision seeder was set down too abruptly, the soil is too wet, or the machine was reversed after the furrow opener entered the soil. Stop the machine and clear the blockage, sow at the appropriate soil moisture, and do not reverse during operation.
7. Inadequate soil covering. Causes: incorrect angle of the soil covering plate, insufficient spring pressure on the furrow opener, soil too hard. Correctly adjust the angle of the soil covering plate, adjust the spring to increase furrow opener pressure, and add counterweight to the seeder.
