How to choose fertilizer varieties for formula fertilization of winter wheat
According to many years of production practice over large areas, applying formula fertilizer for winter wheat once as base fertilizer (all base and topdressing applied in one go) is an economical and efficient fertilization method. Such wheat fields generally show strong but not excessive wheat seedlings, well-developed root systems, thick and sturdy stems, strong disease resistance, large spikes with many grains, and high 1000-grain weight. Yields increase by more than 10% compared with traditional fertilization. In addition, fertilizer dosage is reduced and labor is saved, increasing income by an average of 60 yuan per mu, with very obvious economic benefits.
The main fertilizer variety choices are:
① Farmyard manure. Organic fertilizers such as manure, compost, sludge fertilizer, and straw are a complete fertilizer, rich in organic matter and various nutrient elements. They can meet the needs of wheat growth and also help improve soil physical and chemical properties.
② Chemical fertilizers. Commonly used fertilizers include ammonium bicarbonate, urea, superphosphate, potassium chloride, etc. These chemical fertilizers are cheap, but their nutrients are single. When applying them, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium should be blended according to the fertilizer requirements of wheat and used in combination, so as to be economical and efficient.
③ Special formula fertilizers. In recent years, many places across the country have been piloting soil testing and formula fertilization projects. Local agricultural technicians, through soil testing and laboratory analysis, and then according to crop fertilizer requirement patterns, have developed special fertilizers, solving farmers' difficulties in purchasing and blending fertilizers.
