How to fertilize wheat rationally? Master these planting key points
Wheat fertilizer requirement is greatly affected by soil properties and its own fertility, and different factors such as sowing date and yield must also be considered, while there are also certain differences among wheat varieties. Farmers should pay attention to the following points in fertilization:
First, apply more phosphate fertilizer. Wheat has a relatively high demand for phosphate fertilizer, so more phosphate fertilizer should be applied as base fertilizer. It is recommended to use compound fertilizer with a relatively high phosphorus content in its nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium ratio or diammonium phosphate as base fertilizer.
Second, pay attention to grasping the appropriate dosage. If diammonium phosphate is used as base fertilizer, 15-20 kg/mu can be used; if compound fertilizer with high phosphorus content (content above 20%) is used, 20-25 kg/mu can be used.
Third, the method of applying base fertilizer must be appropriate. Place diammonium phosphate in the fertilizer box and sow it together with the seeds in the seed box, taking care not to let it directly contact the seeds to avoid burning the seedlings. If compound fertilizer is used, the usage method of diammonium phosphate can be referenced, but the fertilizer granules are required to be uniform in shape and meet standards in hardness, and must not be powdery. Otherwise, base fertilizer should be applied first, and sowing should be carried out after plowing evenly and harrowing finely.
Fourth, determining the fertilization amount should refer to the yield of the previous crop. The summer corn yield on Ms. Li's plot in the previous crop was 600 kg per mu, indicating relatively high soil fertility, so the amount of fertilizer used for wheat can be appropriately reduced.
In addition, attention should be paid to timely topdressing of wheat spring seedlings the following year, generally at the late jointing stage. If sowing is late and the seedling condition is poor, it can be appropriately advanced to the jointing stage. The first topdressing amount is 15-20 kg/mu of urea. For the second topdressing, observe the growth at that time. If the seedling condition is still not vigorous, another panicle fertilizer can be applied in the early booting stage, using 7.5-10 kg/mu of urea.
