Roses like sunlight, are relatively cold-tolerant and drought-tolerant, prefer a ventilated and cool climate, and the suitable growth temperature is 15-25°C. Roses have strong adaptability and are not demanding about soil. They grow well and bloom abundantly in fertile neutral or slightly acidic light loam. Before planting, apply decomposed organic fertilizer in the hole as a base fertilizer, and then apply fertilizer four more times during the following year, namely: apply a bud-promoting fertilizer once in February-March, and apply a flower-promoting fertilizer once before flowering; after the flowers fade, apply a post-bloom fertilizer once to enhance plant vigor; before winter, when the leaves fall, apply a wintering fertilizer once, and the amount can be slightly larger, which is beneficial for raising soil temperature and helping the plants overwinter safely. For potted roses, it is suitable to apply decomposed liquid fertilizer once every 10 days.

Roses are drought-tolerant but not waterlogging-tolerant. If waterlogging lasts a long time, the lower leaves of the plant will fall off, and it may even cause the plant to die. Ground-planted roses generally do not need watering at ordinary times; just water them appropriately in early spring and during dry seasons. Potted roses can be watered once every 2-3 days, and in hot summer they should be watered every day.

Roses are not only a beautiful ornamental flower, but also an economic plant of extremely high value. Its flowers can not only be used as a fragrance ingredient for various preserves, but also be used to extract essence and rose oil. In the international market, the value of rose oil is also quite high. When roses bloom, they should be picked promptly. If the flowers are not picked, they will bloom only once a year; the more times they are picked, the more times they bloom. Picking is generally done at dawn each day when the flowers open, and it is best to pick those whose buds have just opened in a ring shape; if the flower is fully open and the center is yellow, it can still be picked; if the flower is fully open and the center has turned red, the quality is relatively poor.

Roses generally bloom on the current year's branches. Frequent pruning can make the plants grow vigorously, with abundant flowers and lush leaves, a beautiful tree shape, and can also extend the number of years they bloom. Pruning can be done before the flowering period or during the dormant period.
