To prevent navel orange fruit cracking, there is usually no ideal technique. Only by adopting measures such as selecting excellent varieties; strengthening soil management, timely irrigation, scientific fertilization, and applying growth regulators can fruit cracking be minimized. But some fruit growers, in practice, found that spraying EM chlorophyll fermentation liquid can prevent navel orange fruit cracking, solving the difficult problem of fruit cracking for mandarin-type navel orange production. It is economical and affordable, can promote the entire navel orange production process in an all-round way, improve quality, and achieve the goal of high efficiency and low consumption.

1. Formula based on 100 kg: 40 kg green grass, 40 kg clean water, 3 kg brown sugar, 3 kg EM stock solution, 14 kg EM fermentation material.

2. Method: First, select fresh tender green grass and cut it on the same day, find a plastic bucket that can hold 100 kg, and it must have a lid; second, dissolve the brown sugar with boiling water, wait until it is not too hot to touch, pour in the EM stock solution, stir evenly, and let it stand for 48 hours; third, use 400 g of monopotassium phosphate, dissolve it with warm water, and put it into the second mixture; third, first sprinkle the EM mixed liquid containing monopotassium phosphate into the bottom of the plastic bucket, then place green grass in layers, pour in the mixed liquid so that the liquid level in the plastic bucket is about 10 cm from the mouth, then cover the lid and let it ferment for more than 15 days, allowing the green grass to rot, then take the grass liquid, dilute it 100-150 times, and spray it on the fruit trees. (Note: small orchards can use a 50 kg plastic bucket and reduce the amount proportionally for fermentation.) Green grass that is tender and green with high protein content is best. If pine needles, bitter leaves, and cocklebur leaves can be added together for fermentation, it also has a disease-preventing effect.

If, while using EM green grass fermentation liquid, an appropriate amount of zinc sulfate (medical grade) and 0.26% calcium nitrate are added to every 50 kg of water, the effect will be better. Zinc sulfate has an inhibitory effect on photorespiration during drought, and calcium can increase sweetness and improve coloration, and can play a better drought-resistant role. If it can be used once every half month to one month, it can also prevent abnormal fruit drop and has the effects of promoting fruit enlargement, improving quality, and advancing coloration.
