1. Peach fruit moth

1. Ground control: before the larvae emerge from the soil, spray the soil surface within the hawthorn tree drip line with chlorpyrifos diluted 1000 times, and spray once more at an interval of 15-20 days, which can effectively control the peach fruit moth.

2. Tree control: during its peak egg-laying period and peak larval hatching period, spray the hawthorn trees with chlorpyrifos diluted 1000-1500 times, or 10% bifenthrin emulsifiable concentrate diluted 1000-2500 times.

2. Hawthorn spider mite

1. Manual control: scrape off the old coarse bark on the branches and trunk of the hawthorn tree to reduce overwintering mites. Before mid-August, tie bundles of grass onto the scraped branches and trunk to attract adult mites that are about to overwinter; remove the grass bundles in winter and burn them to kill the adult mites.

2. Chemical control: before the overwintering adult mites emerge from dormancy and during the larval mite hatching period, spray with 5% hexythiazox emulsifiable concentrate diluted 1500-2000 times, or 50% amitraz wettable powder diluted 1000-1500 times, or 50% bromopropylate emulsifiable concentrate diluted 1000-1250 times.

3. Hawthorn carpenter moth

1. Manual control: in autumn, scrape off the larvae hidden in the bark layers to reduce overwintering larvae. Saw off or prune out dead trees and dead branches that have been infested, and clear them out of the orchard and burn them.

2. Chemical control: from June to August, spray with 80% dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrate diluted 1500 times.

4. Hawthorn butterfly

1. Manual control: after the hawthorn tree sheds its leaves and before early spring bud break, in combination with winter and spring pruning, remove and pick off the leaf bags on the trees, and gather and destroy the overwintering larvae to reduce the pest infestation.

2. Chemical control: spray during the emergence period of overwintering larvae and the egg hatching period, using 10% permethrin emulsifiable concentrate diluted 2000-3000 times, or 50% fenitrothion emulsifiable concentrate diluted 1000-1200 times, to spray the hawthorn trees.
