For jujube trees to be high-yielding, fruit setting is the most critical. Management depends on technique; for fruit setting, find the patterns. The flowering period must be seized firmly, and the secrets must be kept firmly in mind.

1. Flowering period The flowering period of jujube trees is relatively long, generally 35 days, that is, from May 25 to June 30. The flowering period is divided into the early flowering stage, full flowering stage, and late flowering stage. Around June 8 is the full flowering stage. The fruit-setting rate is high in the full flowering stage and late flowering stage, accounting for 50% of the total fruit.

2. Fruit-setting rate The flowers of jujube trees are very dense. A large-fruited jujube has more than 100 flowers open per cluster, while the fruit-setting rate is only 1%. Chicken-heart jujube has about 300 flowers open per cluster, and the fruit-setting rate is generally 2%.

3. Pollination Jujube flowers are insect-pollinated flowers; they cannot pollinate themselves or rely on wind pollination. During the flowering period, bees and other insects should be used for pollination, or medicinal pollination should be used, to increase the fruit-setting rate.

4. Temperature and humidity In June weather, there is high temperature and little rain, and many dry hot winds. When the temperature is around 35°C, it is more suitable for fruit setting; below 28°C, it is not suitable for fruit setting. In rainy, high-temperature, sunless, windless, muggy weather, the fruit-setting rate is highest. 5. Hormone fruit setting Based on the characteristics of jujube trees, namely a long flowering period and a low fruit-setting rate, during the full flowering stage medicinal fruit setting can be used, such as GA3, 2,4-D pollination agent, cytokinin, plus 20% potassium nitrohumate, Shengliyuan, Nongfeng Dalishi, potassium nitrohumate essence, rare earth boron fertilizer, etc., which can increase the amount of fruit set by 1-2 times.

6. Bark girdling Bark girdling is a traditional folk management model and can play an effective role in intercepting flow. During the full flowering stage, girdle the jujube once every 3-5 days, which can increase the fruit-setting rate and increase yield.
