When do carnations usually bloom?

This is an excellent cut flower, and it is believed that only a few people in the world have never heard its name. It has a delicate fragrance and a long blooming period, and it is needed for all kinds of floral arrangements. We also often combine it with some flowers to make beautiful bouquets. Moreover, with the arrival of Mother's Day, it has become the most sold plant in the world, because flowers are generally given as gifts when it blooms. Now many people are wondering about its blooming time, so today we will talk about its blooming time.

1. Time

Although its blooming time is generally set, different varieties still have different times. Some bloom in one season, and some bloom all year round. What is mainly sold on the market now is a very ordinary variety, but its blooming period is relatively long. Generally speaking, artificially cultivated ones will bloom all year round, while natural ones bloom between April and September.

2. Factors

In fact, the time of each blooming is not fixed; it is not unchanging. Generally speaking, if the climate changes that year, the blooming period will also change. In addition, this will also change because of the duration of sunlight exposure. It likes a cool, sunny environment where the wind can blow, and sunlight conditions can promote the differentiation of both its flowers and buds. This plant has good tolerance to cold and poor tolerance to heat. When the growing temperature is 14 to 21 degrees Celsius, it grows at a considerable speed, while above 27 degrees Celsius or below 14 degrees Celsius, its growth speed is unsatisfactory. If there is more sunlight, the time when its flower buds appear is noticeably earlier, though of course this has no effect on the differentiation and formation of the corolla. At the same time, from the appearance of flower buds to blooming, this has no relevant factor with the sun or its variety, and this time is usually maintained at about 30 days. Therefore, it can be seen that the blooming periods of different types have no connection with the differentiation of flowers and buds; the deciding factor is the initiation of the flower buds.

3. Fresh-keeping

In fact, we can take certain measures to keep the flowers fresh. The first way is to cut them while they are in water. In addition, we can also put a small amount of water in the vase, but this water needs to be changed frequently. Also, we can add some substances, such as boric acid, to keep them fresh. Of course, the concentration of boric acid cannot be too high; about 2 percent is feasible.
