Pear Tree Spring Pest Control Methods and Technical Key Points
Pear tree spring pests and diseases include: pear fruit borer, aphids, red spider mites, pear psylla, stink bugs, leaf-mining mites and black spot disease, etc.
Timing and measures of control: from early spring to before flower buds swell, clean the orchard and scrape tree bark. Lay plastic sheeting under the tree, then scrape off the raised and coarse bark on the trunk and large branches, but do not damage the new bark. For the coarse vertical bark at the branch forks, scrape carefully. Collect the scraped bark, larvae, eggs, etc. and bury them deep or burn them. Knock down dead leaves and remaining dried fruit from the tree and remove them from the orchard for destruction, finally spray the whole tree once with lime sulfur mixture.
From flower bud swelling to before flowering, spray the whole tree once with a mixed solution of 800 times omethoate and 1500 times deltamethrin, spraying evenly, until the branches are wet as if by light rain. Before flowering, broadcast 100 grams of soil fungicide-insecticide granules, then shallow-hoe once so that the pesticide and soil are fully mixed.
At the beginning of the flowering period, spray the whole tree once with 1000 times beta-cypermethrin to prevent scarab beetles from damaging pear flowers.
At full bloom, spray all flowers on the whole tree with a mixture of 0.3% borax, 0.3% urea and 0.5% white sugar, which can effectively promote the fruit-setting rate of the flowers.
After petal fall, 10 to 15 days after petal fall, spray the whole tree with a mixed solution of 800 times carbendazim and 1000 times beta-cypermethrin twice, at an interval of 7 days. Mainly to prevent black spot disease, moldy core and scarab beetles, stink bugs, etc. If 1500 times imidacloprid is added, it can also control leaf-mining mites, psylla and aphids.
