How to manage pear trees after harvest? Detailed technical points
1. Clearing the orchard and pruning pear trees: After harvesting the fruit, promptly clear all kinds of weeds, dead branches, fallen leaves and fallen fruit from the orchard, and cut off the shaded branches inside the canopy and the diseased and pest-infested branches, weak branches, dry branches, overlapping branches and overly dense branches on the outside of the canopy, and gather them outside the orchard for burning, so as to reduce sources of disease and pests.
2. Applying post-harvest fertilizer: After clearing the orchard and pruning, promptly apply post-harvest fertilizer, mainly high-quality organic fertilizer and nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer. For bearing trees more than 10 years old, apply 40-50 kg of decomposed and rotted human, livestock and poultry manure per tree. For nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer, 2-3 kg, dig a ring trench 25-30 cm deep and 25-30 cm wide around the drip line of the canopy, evenly scatter the fertilizer into the trench, and backfill soil to cover the fertilizer.
3. Controlling diseases and pests: After clearing the orchard and pruning, spray a 0.8-1 degree Baume lime-sulfur mixture aqueous solution once inside and outside the canopy to kill various diseases and pests attached to the branches and leaves. During the period when new shoots emerge, spray once a mixture of 800 times trichlorfon, 1000 times dichlorvos and 800 times thiophanate-methyl to kill various diseases and pests harming the new shoots, so as to protect the tender shoots.
4. Foliar topdressing: After harvesting the fruit from pear trees, foliar spray 3-5 times a mixture of 0.1% magnesium sulfate, 0.2% urea, 0.3% monopotassium phosphate and 1000 times triacontanol, or 800 times fruit-tree-specific Gaomeishi organic humic acid solution, spraying once every 7-10 days, evenly wetting all leaves, so as to rapidly increase the nutrient level of the leaves, strengthen the tree vigor, and help the fruiting mother branches emerge.
5. Earthing up and mulching: After applying post-harvest fertilizer, promptly apply decomposed and rotted garbage fertilizer, burned soil, pond mud, miscellaneous soil fertilizer, etc. to the surface soil under the canopy. Apply 150-200 kg per tree, from 30-40 cm outside the drip line of the canopy inward to 40-50 cm from the trunk, then cover the tree with rice straw or other weeds, with a grass thickness of 3-5 cm, to reduce water loss.
