Vegetables growing slowly in winter? Try these countermeasures
To solve the problem of slow vegetable growth, start with the root system, promoting both above and below ground, rooting and strengthening seedlings.
1. Solve the problems of soil compaction and salinization
This is the foundation for promoting root penetration. Only by creating a safe and favorable root environment can root growth be ensured, allowing the roots to penetrate deeper. Through physical, biological and comprehensive agricultural measures, loosen the soil and transform it into a granular structure to promote rooting.
2. Control fertilization
Many farmers, seeing slow vegetable growth, assume it is caused by insufficient fertilizer and begin over-fertilizing. In fact, the more fertilizer applied, the more it affects root penetration in vegetables, without solving the problem at its root. Therefore, at this stage, if there is a water shortage, you can water, but the use of chemical fertilizers must be controlled.
3. Foliar fertilization to stimulate growth
Spray the leaves with Yeflora 1000x solution + Jiayuan monopotassium phosphate 500x solution, once every 5-7 days, for 2-3 consecutive sprays. Supplementing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer through the leaves while also supplementing seaweed acid can stimulate vegetable rooting, reduce leaf aging, and help vegetables recover their growth more quickly. In cultivation management, always choose sunny weather for watering or spraying. Water with a small amount; do not flood-irrigate, to prevent too great a drop in soil temperature.
4. Promote rooting and restore vigor
If the crop has already become weak, supplementing fertilizer at this point is not effective, as the roots cannot absorb it. You can improve the growing environment around the roots by supplementing Bacillus to stimulate rooting; at the same time, supplement boron fertilizer to promote the elongation of fine roots, and supplement zinc fertilizer to improve the stress resistance of vegetables.
