Spring, the season when all things revive, has come around again. Some of the flowers grown on the balcony have slowly put out tender leaves and small blossoms, and the few pots of cute, delicate Graptosedum 'Bronze' succulents on the windowsill have reached repotting season again. So how should you repot Graptosedum 'Bronze'? Let's take a look below with the editor.

Let's take a look below with the editor!

How to Water and Fertilize Graptosedum 'Bronze'

1. Water management

In the early stage after transplanting, do not water too much. If you see the leaves wilting and looking somewhat shriveled, you can spray a small amount of water on the roots or leaves. There is a brief dormancy in summer, which requires ventilation and shading.

2. Temperature management

As long as the temperature is not below zero, you can basically water normally. Graptosedum 'Bronze' can tolerate a low temperature of minus 5 degrees when the potting soil is dry.

3. Fertilization management

After propagation, irrigate with water and fertilizer together. Fertilization should not be excessive, especially nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it will cause the plant to grow leggy and the leaf color will not turn red. Apply a light fertilizer based mainly on phosphorus and potassium once a month.

Precautions for Repotting Graptosedum 'Bronze'

1. Removing it

When removing the Graptosedum 'Bronze' from the pot, move carefully and gently, and do as little damage to the plant's roots as possible. Use a small shovel to dig down carefully from the edge of the pot, and it is best to take the succulent out of the pot without any damage.

2. Pruning the roots

After taking the Graptosedum 'Bronze' out of the pot, separate the soil and small stones from the roots, and clean off the soil stuck to the roots. Trim away all the old roots and rotten roots, keeping the healthy root systems.

3. Watering

A humid environment helps root growth. After pruning the roots, you can spray some water into the prepared soil to keep it moist.

4. Adding soil

First put part of the soil into the pot (about one third of the total capacity), then place the Graptosedum 'Bronze' into the pot, position it well, hold it with your hand and start adding soil. It is worth noting that the soil should not be added too full; if it is too full, watering will be difficult later. Before placing the Graptosedum 'Bronze' into the pot, you can add some fertilizer to the soil to give it some extra nutrients.

5. Firming it down

After planting the Graptosedum 'Bronze', hold it with your hand and gently tap the flower pot with a small stick to make the soil firmer. Finally, tidy the surface of the soil to make it more level.

Morphological Characteristics of Graptosedum 'Bronze'

A single plant can reach 3 cm in diameter, a clustered plant can reach more than 25 cm in diameter and up to 15 cm in height, and it is much branched.

The leaves are plump and round, obovate, flat or slightly raised on the upper side, raised on the lower side, with a bluntly rounded leaf tip. They can reach 1.0-1.5 cm in length and about 0.5 cm in width. The leaves gradually become smaller from the base to the tip. In an environment with sufficient light and a large temperature difference, they take on a pale pink cream color; in an environment with insufficient light or high humidity, they take on a grayish-green color, and the leaf scars are dark red.

The flowers of Graptosedum 'Bronze' are very small, only about 1 cm in diameter, with 3, 4 or 5 petals. The white petals are dotted with more or fewer fine red spots.

Growth Habits of Graptosedum 'Bronze'

Graptosedum 'Bronze' is robust by nature and likes a sunny, dry and well-ventilated environment. It is drought-tolerant and dislikes waterlogging, and it is suited to small pots and well-drained sandy soil. In summer it should be appropriately shaded; when the temperature is above 35 degrees Celsius, watering should be stopped to let it go dormant, and it should be moved to a cool, ventilated place for care. If the temperature is kept above 5 degrees Celsius in winter, it will overwinter without worry.

The above is the Graptosedum 'Bronze' growing technique introduced by the editor, and I hope it can help everyone! When growing Graptosedum 'Bronze', you should also pay attention to pruning, because Graptosedum 'Bronze' grows quickly and easily develops a “big head”, which will seriously affect its appearance!
