After rice matures, it becomes the rice we commonly eat, and rice cultivation is also the most common in our country. There are many techniques when growing rice, especially when fertilizing; the choice of fertilizer is very important. There are also different periods for the timing of fertilization, so when exactly is it? Let's take a look together below!

Which compound fertilizer for rice is better

1. Base fertilizer. Applied into the soil before rice transplanting, the base fertilizer accounts for 40% of the total chemical fertilizer amount, and is applied together with the last paddy field harrowing. It is recommended to apply 20 kg of Shakefu rice fertilizer 20-12-14 or a similar compound fertilizer per 667 sq m.

2. Tillering fertilizer. The tillering stage is an important period for increasing the number of plants, and it is applied half a month after transplanting or seedling planting. It is recommended to apply 20 kg of Shakefu rice fertilizer 20-12-14 or a similar compound fertilizer per 667 sq m.

3. Ear fertilizer. It is divided into flower-promoting fertilizer and flower-preserving fertilizer. Flower-promoting fertilizer is applied from the rachis differentiation stage to the spikelet differentiation stage; applying nitrogen at this stage can increase the number of spikelets per ear. Flower-preserving fertilizer is applied slightly before the pollen mother cell meiosis stage and has the effect of preventing spikelet degeneration and increasing the accumulation of stored substances in the stem and sheath. Ear fertilizer, without distinguishing flower-promoting fertilizer and flower-preserving fertilizer, is applied 40-50 days after transplanting. It is recommended to apply 10 kg of Shakefu 10-6-24 compound fertilizer or a similar compound fertilizer per 667 sq m.

The best time for rice topdressing

1. Generally, for paddy field fertilization, the growth process of rice is divided into three stages: early, middle, and late. The early stage refers to the period from transplanting to the end of tillering, which is the vegetative growth stage of rice; at this time, the goal is to promote effective tillering and strive for more ears.

2. The middle stage refers to the period when rice growth has entered the reproductive growth stage (pollen formation period); at this time, the goal is strong stems and large ears, but fertilization must not be excessive.

3. The late stage refers to the period from heading to maturity of rice; at this time, the main goal is more grains and full grains, ensuring that fertilizer is not lost while avoiding excessive vegetative growth and late maturity.

Main fertilization methods for rice

1. Light early - heavy middle - supplementary late method: apply sufficient and appropriate base fertilizer and tillering fertilizer, apply ear fertilizer reasonably, and apply grain fertilizer as appropriate, so as to achieve early growth and steady growth, no excessive growth in the early stage, flower promotion in the middle stage, and no early senescence in the late stage. On the basis of ensuring a sufficient number of ears, this method also aims at large ears and grain weight. This fertilization method is mostly used for single-season late rice and late-maturing middle rice in the south.

2. Stable early - attack middle method: this method saves fertilizer and provides stable yield and high yield. It mainly improves the effective tillering rate, attacks large ears to increase the seed-setting rate, and increases grain weight to strive for high yield. Characteristics: strong plants, large tillers, small population, and tillering controlled in the early stage; strong stems and roots, large ears attacked in the middle, and seed-setting rate and ear weight attacked in the middle and late stages.

3. Promote early - control middle - supplement late method. This method is similar to the "V"-shaped fertilization method, applying heavy base fertilizer (accounting for more than 80% of the total amount) and heavy tillering fertilizer, and applying grain fertilizer as appropriate, to achieve the requirements of "vigorous growth in the early stage, stable growth in the middle stage, and healthy and strong growth in the late stage." This fertilization method is mostly used in the Northeast rice region, most early rice in the south, and wheat stubble rice in North China. Its disadvantage is that excessive early growth easily causes field shading and heavier pests and diseases.

4. Promote early fertilization method. On the basis of applying sufficient base fertilizer, apply tillering fertilizer early and heavily, especially nitrogen fertilizer, to promote early and rapid tillering and ensure more tillers and ears. Base fertilizer accounts for 70% of the total fertilizer amount (nitrogen fertilizer accounts for 60%-80% of the total nitrogen amount), and the remaining 30% of fertilizer is all applied after transplanting and greening. This method is suitable for rice areas where rainfall is concentrated during the rice growth period, fertilizer is easily lost, and low temperature and insufficient sunlight often occur. The base fertilizer is mainly farmyard manure.

Rice fertilization amount and ratio

1. When the yield per mu is 550-600 kg, the nitrogen fertilizer (N) rate for japonica rice is 14-16 kg/mu, and the nitrogen fertilizer rate for indica rice is 10-14 kg/mu; phosphate fertilizer 3.5-5 kg/mu; potassium fertilizer 4.5-6 kg/mu. For zinc-deficient soil, apply zinc sulfate 1 kg/mu; appropriately apply silicon-containing fertilizer as base fertilizer.

2. Nitrogen fertilizer: base fertilizer accounts for 40%-50%, tillering fertilizer accounts for 20%-30%, and ear fertilizer accounts for 20%-30%; organic fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer are all applied as base fertilizer; potassium fertilizer is applied twice, as base fertilizer (accounting for 60%-70%) and ear fertilizer (accounting for 30%-40%).

3. For fields where organic fertilizer is applied or green manure is grown and turned under, the amount of base fertilizer can be appropriately reduced.

There are many choices of compound fertilizer for rice, and different fertilizers also differ in application method and amount. There are three periods for rice fertilization, so everyone needs to grasp these time periods well. There are detailed introductions above, and I hope they can be helpful to everyone.
