What fertilizer is best for getting more fruit to set on chili peppers?
Chili pepper is a very common vegetable, it is consumed very frequently in our daily life, and eating some chili pepper in moderation also has certain benefits for the human body. At present it is grown in many places in our country. However, when growing chili peppers, many people do not know what kind of fertilizer to choose, or how to increase its fruit-setting rate.
What fertilizer is best for chili peppers
1. Seedling stage to before flowering: nutrient demand at this stage accounts for 15% of the entire growth process. It is recommended to use 5L of Guotai Bainian humic acid liquid organic fertilizer at the seedling stage, and during the branching and shaping period use 2.5KG of Guotai Bainian high-nitrogen water-soluble fertilizer and 2.5KG of high-potassium water-soluble fertilizer, diluted with water to 1000 times and poured on. In addition, during this period spray Guotai Bainian EDTA chelated calcium single-element fertilizer 1-2 times, 50 grams per mu each time. While spraying the single-element calcium fertilizer, you can add 200 grams each of the high-nitrogen and high-potassium types, diluted with water to 1500 times, for a better effect.
2. Early flowering to full-bloom fruit-setting stage: nutrient demand at this stage accounts for 35% of the entire growth process. It is recommended to use 5KG of Guotai Bainian high-potassium water-soluble fertilizer, 5KG of high-nitrogen water-soluble fertilizer and 5KG of balanced water-soluble fertilizer at the early flowering stage, diluted with water to 1000 times and poured on. In addition, during this period spray Guotai Bainian high-phosphorus water-soluble fertilizer 1-2 times, 200 grams per mu each time, diluted with water to 1500 times.
3. Full-bloom to harvest stage: nutrient demand at this stage accounts for 50% of the entire growth process. Generally, topdressing is done while harvesting. It is recommended to use 5KG of Guotai Bainian high-nitrogen water-soluble fertilizer and 5KG of high-potassium water-soluble fertilizer at the early fruit stage, and spray Guotai Bainian EDTA chelated calcium single-element fertilizer once, with an amount of 50 grams. While spraying the single-element calcium fertilizer, you can add 200 grams each of the high-nitrogen and high-potassium types, diluted with water to 1500 times, for a better effect. Topdress 1-2 times during the harvest period, using 2.5KG of Guotai Bainian high-potassium water-soluble fertilizer each time.
How to make chili peppers set more fruit
1. Temperature management. At this stage, the weather changes quite a lot; from the high temperatures of the previous period it has now dropped by more than ten degrees, and the temperature drop is especially fast. At this stage, one thing is to pay attention to the temperature, and the key is to pay attention to the temperature difference. Chili peppers are in the fruit-setting stage, and the temperature to maintain during the day is between 26-30 degrees, and between 13-15 degrees at night. Because chili peppers are in the fruit-setting stage, their temperature requirements are relatively sensitive, so everyone should adjust according to the suitable temperature for the chili pepper fruit-setting stage.
2. Water management. At this stage, during the fruit-setting period, water needs to be controlled appropriately. According to the soil conditions in the greenhouse, if the field is already dry, a small watering is needed, and it should be done in the morning. After watering, water should be controlled, and watering should wait until the fruit has set. If the current soil moisture is still acceptable, the greenhouse can control water, and watering should wait until the fruit has set before watering to swell the fruit.
3. Promote differentiation. At this stage, during the fruit-setting period, it is essential to make the flower bud differentiation good and the flower buds plump. As you can see in the two photos above, the stamens are especially weak. Due to the continuous cloudy days in the previous period, the plants grew leggy, flowers and fruit dropped, and the stamens above are especially weak. It is necessary to spray a rejuvenation agent + Guoshen No. 3 + phosphorus-potassium power, spraying once every 5-7 days. For specific amounts, the rejuvenation agent can be used at 150-300 milliliters, Guoshen No. 3 at 1.5 packets, and phosphorus-potassium power at 1 packet, sprayed once every 5-7 days, and sprayed continuously 2-3 times during the fruit-setting stage.
How to water chili peppers
1. First, during the flowering period of chili pepper seedlings, watering should be properly controlled to avoid excessive growth and to promote fruit setting. When most plants have set fruit at the first node, end the seedling-holding and carry out a second watering, together with fertilization. The fertilizer requirement is to use urea or human manure and urine, applied in furrows and covered, and after fertilizing, carry out watering management for the seedlings.
2. Second, after picking chili peppers, water again. After chili peppers enter the full-fruit stage, watering should be maintained about once a week, because at this time evaporation is relatively high, so the method of watering chili pepper seedlings that is shared must always keep the bed surface moist.
Common pests of chili peppers and their control
1. Aphids. Clear weeds in and around the field to reduce aphid sources. The best time to eliminate aphids is at the initial stage of occurrence. You can choose 10% imidacloprid 1000-times solution or 1% yashijing 2000-times solution for spraying.
2. Broad mite. Timely clear weeds and dead branches and fallen leaves in and around the field to reduce pest sources. When pests are found, use pesticide promptly. You can choose 15% saomanjing wettable powder 2000-times solution, 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate 1000-times solution, or 75% propargite emulsifiable concentrate 1500-times solution. Focus on spraying the backs of young leaves and young stems on the upper part of the plant, once every 10 days, for 3 consecutive sprays.
There are also many fertilizers that should be chosen for chili peppers; the fertilizers and fertilizing techniques chosen at different stages are all different. If you want chili peppers to set more fruit, you must do a good job in management of temperature, moisture and other aspects. Only by doing these well can you ensure better growth of chili peppers.
