In fact, during the growth of many crops, all kinds of problems are encountered. Some problems may be caused by the fruit tree itself, and part of the reason may also be damage from pests. Nowadays many people like to grow some jujube trees at home, after all, the nutritional value of jujubes is also very rich. So, what pesticide is relatively good to spray when jujube trees bloom? In which month of the year do jujube trees generally bloom and bear fruit?

What months do jujube trees bloom and bear fruit

1. Jujube trees generally bear fruit as soon as the flowers fade, blooming around May. Different jujube trees have different flowering periods: generally they bloom from May to June, set fruit in July to August, and ripen in September. Some are early and some are late, and no single rule covers them all.

2. Red jujube grows in mountainous areas, hills or plains below 1700 m in altitude. It is a warmth-loving fruit tree with fairly strong drought tolerance and waterlogging tolerance, but the flowering period requires relatively high air humidity, otherwise pollination and fruit setting are unfavorable. It has a strong light requirement, is quite sensitive to light response, has strong adaptability to soil, tolerates poor soil and salt-alkali, but fears wind.

What is good to spray when jujube trees bloom

1. The time for girdling is generally in early to mid-June. It is done when the amount of flowers opened accounts for 30%-50% of the total number of flower buds. For trees being girdled for the first time, the cut is made on the trunk 20-30 cm above the ground; afterward the girdling position moves up 5-10 cm each year, and when it reaches the first main branch, the above operation is repeated.

2. The width of the girdling cut is generally suitably 0.3-0.6 cm (or 1/10-1/8 of the trunk diameter), and generally healing in about 30 days is best. Girdling must be chosen to be done on a sunny day, and preferably there should be no moderate to heavy rain for 48 hours after girdling, otherwise it is unfavorable for the healing of the cut.

3. After girdling, attention should be paid to protecting the girdling cut. Generally 2-3 days after girdling, apply 1 insecticide to the cut, then apply it again about every 1 week, for a total of 2 applications. For cuts that heal slowly, smooth them over with mud, which both prevents insects and preserves moisture, helping the cut heal.

How to protect flowers and fruit on jujube trees

1. Suppress vegetative growth, regulate the contradiction between growth and fruit bearing, and promote fruit setting. Such measures include root cutting, pinching, bud removal, branch thinning, girdling, ring cutting, scoring, and fertilizer and water management. Taking these measures can regulate the contradiction in nutrient distribution and transport between the tree's vegetative growth and flowering and fruiting, raise the tree's nutrient level, and make more nutrients available to supply the needs of flowers and fruit.

2. Spray water during the flowering period to raise air humidity. During the flowering period, air humidity should not be lower than 60-70%, otherwise it will have an adverse effect. Spraying water in the evening or morning gives good results, generally combined with foliar fertilizer spraying of 0.3-0.5% urea.

3. Place bees in the jujube orchard to increase pollination agents. Some varieties of jujube are self-pollinating and some are cross-pollinating. Pollination within a variety or between varieties can both set fruit well, and increasing pollination agents gives good results.

4. Spray plant hormones and trace elements, mainly gibberellin, 2.4-D, paclobutrazol, chlormequat, B9, indolebutyric acid, indoleacetic acid, acetic acid, naphthaleneacetic acid, borax, boric acid, and so on.

How to make jujube trees bear more fruit

1. Three sprays during the flowering period: the flowering period of jujube trees is relatively long, divided into three stages, the early flowering stage, the full flowering stage and the late flowering stage, and can last more than a month, that is, from late May to the end of June. Generally around June 8 it enters the full flowering stage. The flowering period of jujube trees likes moisture and fears dryness, but at this time the weather is just hot and dry with a lot of wind-blown dust, which easily reduces the dense leaves around the stigma of jujube flowers, causing the stigma to stick to a large amount of fine dust and seriously affecting normal pollination. At the same time, under the harm of dry hot wind, the transpiration of jujube trees increases. If fertilizer and water are lacking at this time, the stigma is very easily withered and shed, so spraying medicine, fertilizer and water during the flowering period can greatly increase the fruit-setting rate of jujube trees.

2. Reasonable pruning: pruning jujube trees can adjust tree vigor, make full use of nutrients, ensure ventilation and light penetration for the jujube tree, increase the fruit-bearing parts, reduce the number of rotten and dropped fruit, and thereby achieve the goal of increasing yield. Pruning jujube trees is mainly based on thinning, combined with heading and renewal. It should be done as follows: thin out overly dense branches, remove crossing branches, cut off drooping branches, shorten overly tall branches, lightly renew strong trees, heavily renew weak trees, appropriately remove old branches from old trees, and prune young trees around shaping. The time for pruning should be after the Start of Spring and before the jujube tree buds.

In fact, if conditions allow, growing some fruit trees or some crops at home is a relatively good choice. After all, food you grow yourself is the healthiest and the best. After all, in our country, food safety hazards also frequently appear nowadays.
