Sodding method: Planting speed is very fast, but the cost is high and the process is complex. Stem sowing method: Suitable for grass species with well-developed stolons. Cut the stolons into several small segments and sow by drilling or broadcasting. Root planting method: Generally carried out in early spring or the rainy season. Dig out the grass roots and plant them densely at a reasonable spacing.

I. Sowing Method

1. Generally, most lawns can be sown in spring or autumn. Lawns sown in late autumn emerge relatively evenly. If the lawn needs to be planted over a large area, drilling or machine sowing should be used; for small areas, manual sowing can be used.

2. After the turf is sown, the soil should be loosened appropriately and then firmed with a wooden roller. To improve the seed emergence rate, a layer of rice straw should be covered on top to prevent water from being lost too quickly. Before sowing, one should master skilled broadcasting techniques to ensure even seeding. In addition, later management is also relatively cumbersome.

II. Sodding Method

This planting method has a relatively complex process and a relatively large investment cost, but it can quickly establish a lawn.

III. Stem Sowing Method

1. As long as the grass species has relatively well-developed stolons, the stem sowing method can be used for propagation, such as creeping bentgrass, buffalo grass, fine-leaf zoysia grass, bermuda grass, carpet grass, and so on. The sowing time is generally best in the rainy season or in early spring when the turf is just about to sprout. First cut the stolons from the lawn ground, then cut them into several segments in a shaded place, about 5-8cm in length. Each segment needs to retain one node to ensure new roots can sprout. Finally, drilling or broadcasting can be carried out.

2. Drilling: On the prepared land, open shallow furrows and water thoroughly. After the water has completely penetrated into the soil, place 2-3 stem vines along the furrows, planting with a row spacing of about 20cm, then cover with a layer of thin soil and water once a day. Stop watering after new shoots emerge from the soil.

3. Broadcasting: First irrigate the planting plot with sufficient water. After it seeps into the soil, spread the prepared stem vines on the soil surface, and finally cover with a layer of thin soil.

IV. Root Planting Method

1. Generally, grass species without stems or vines but with many tillers are suitable for the root planting method, such as velvet grass, cottongrass, and so on. It is generally best to plant in early spring or the rainy season.

2. First dig out the roots of densely growing turf, then shake off the soil, remove weeds, and trim off some fibrous roots. Then they can be planted in rows or holes at an appropriate plant and row spacing.

3. After planting, it is best to cover with a 2cm thick layer of soil, compact it, and water thoroughly. When new leaves sprout, to prevent the soil from drying and cracking and becoming compacted, water about 1-2 times a day.
