How many years can a wild goji berry tree generally live
Goji berry is a common health food in daily life; it can not only be steeped in water to drink, but also used in soups, infused in liquor, and more, and it has high practical value. At present, it can be grown in some areas of China, so how many years can a wild goji berry tree live?
1. How many years can a wild goji berry tree live?
A wild goji berry tree can generally live 60-100 years, but if it is not managed well and the site conditions are poor, its lifespan will be shortened. At present, it is planted in Henan, Hebei, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Qinghai, and other places in China, among which goji berries produced in Ningxia and Qinghai are relatively famous.
2. What effects and functions does goji berry have?
1. Effects on immune function
Effects on immune function: it has an effect of enhancing nonspecific immunity. Mice given goji berry water extract by gavage or injected intramuscularly with alcohol extract and goji berry polysaccharides all showed improved phagocytic function of macrophages, enhanced serum lysozyme activity, increased titer of anti-sheep red blood cell antibodies in serum, and also increased the number of antibody-forming cells against sheep red blood cells in the mouse spleen.
2. Anti-aging effect
Anti-aging effect: after 0.5 mg of goji berry extract was given to mice by gavage for a total of 20 days, it could significantly inhibit liver LPo formation and increase the activity of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in blood and the activity of erythrocyte superoxide dismutase (SOD); human trials showed that it could significantly inhibit serum LPo formation and increase blood GSH-Px activity, but no increase was seen in erythrocyte SOD activity, suggesting that goji berry extract has an anti-aging effect.
3. Resistance to liver injury
Resistance to liver injury: betaine hydrochloride can significantly increase phospholipids in rat serum and liver, and has a clear protective effect against the decrease in phospholipids and increase in cholesterol in rats caused by long-term administration of carbon tetrachloride; water-soluble extract also has a similar effect, but slightly weaker.
4. Lowering blood sugar
Goji berry extract can significantly and persistently lower blood sugar in rats, increase glucose tolerance, and has relatively low toxicity. In addition, this product also has anti-tumor, hematopoietic function-promoting, and other effects.
