Snails refer to all terrestrial species of the class Gastropoda. In the West, no distinction is generally made between aquatic snails and terrestrial snails, while in Chinese, snail only refers to terrestrial species; in the broad sense, snails also include the giant shield slug. Snails feed mainly on green plants, and in gardening they feed on flowers, vegetables and so on, so which pesticides can kill snails?

1. Control of snails

Per mu, use 0.5-0.6 kg of 6% Mita (metaldehyde) molluscicide granules, or 2 kg of 8% Miewoling granules or 10% metaldehyde (snail bait) granules, mix with an appropriate amount of fine soil or fine sand, and broadcast evenly in the field in the evening.

There are more than 40,000 species of snails in the world, and they are also widely distributed in China. Generally, snails can live 2-3 years, with a maximum of 7 years, but most may become food for other animals within the same year. Snails are treated differently in the cultures of various countries; in some Western countries they symbolize tenacity and perseverance, and the French use snails in cooking, thus breeding a large, thick-fleshed Burgundy snail that is 40-50 cm long and weighs more than 40 grams.

2. Main value of snails

Snails have very high edible and medicinal value. When eaten, they are a high-grade nutritious tonic rich in more than 20 kinds of amino acids. Although there are many kinds of snails, the kinds with breeding and edible value are few. As a high-protein, low-fat top-grade food and animal protein feed for humans, snails are increasingly valued by people. In traditional Chinese medicine, snails have the functions of clearing heat and reducing swelling, detoxifying and promoting urination, relieving asthma and softening hardness, and the enzymes they contain can resolve accumulations and remove stagnation, while glutamic acid and aspartic acid can enhance the vitality of human brain cells; eating more snails can have a nutritional and beautifying effect on the skin and hair.

The above is the relevant knowledge about snails. In agriculture they are pests, but as food they indeed have great nutritional value, so it can be said that they are treated differently in different places
