How to Propagate Four-Season Chrysanthemums? Sharing Several Common Propagation Methods
The four-season chrysanthemum is a type of chrysanthemum that can purify the air, and many people like to keep a pot at home, so how do you propagate four-season chrysanthemums?
1. How to propagate four-season chrysanthemums?
Four-season chrysanthemums can be propagated by two methods: softwood cuttings and offshoot division. For softwood cuttings, during the rainy season or autumn, select a healthy branch, treat the wound, and insert it into the soil; after 15 days of cuttings, it will take root, and when the seedling reaches 8-10cm in height, it can be transplanted into a pot. For offshoot division, when the temperature is above 5 degrees, select an offshoot and plant it into the soil.
2. How to care for four-season chrysanthemums?
1. Flower soil: To grow four-season chrysanthemums, you need loose flower soil with good drainage and sufficient fertility. If conditions permit, it is recommended to mix six parts leaf mold, three parts sandy loam, and one part base fertilizer to prepare its flower soil.
2. Temperature: It adapts well to temperature and can grow normally in environments between 15-35°C. However, in winter, to avoid it being frozen, it is best to keep the surrounding temperature above 10°C.
3. Watering: It needs sufficient water support to grow normally. So in spring and autumn, water once every 2-5 days to help it grow. In summer, water once a day to prevent it from lacking water.
4. Fertilizing: It needs topdressing during the growing period and before flowering. During the growing season, apply manure soil fertilizer once a month to help it grow. Before flowering, apply 2-3 times a flower fertilizer with higher phosphorus content to help it bloom.
