What are the propagation methods for the succulent Magician?
The succulent Magician is generally propagated by cuttings. The best time for cuttings is spring and autumn. Choose fertile, breathable, well-draining soil. Let the wound of the cut stem dry, then it can be inserted for rooting. The insertion depth is 3-5 cm. After completing it, place it in a cool, ventilated spot. For the care of successfully rooted succulent Magician, also pay attention to the following points.
How to care for the succulent Magician?
1. Soil
For the growing soil, try to ensure it is loose and breathable. You can use a mix of leaf mold, garden soil, vermiculite, plant ash, and so on. This kind of soil can protect the roots of the Magician succulent and promote healthy root growth.
2. Watering
Water once every half month, and keep the growing soil slightly moist but not waterlogged. In the scorching summer and severe winter, water less to avoid water accumulation causing root rot.
3. Temperature
In severe winter, try to keep the temperature above 11°C. It can overwinter at low temperatures of 4°C or 6°C, but it will temporarily stop growing. When summer temperatures are high, open windows more to lower the temperature.
4. Fertilizing
Usually the amount of fertilizer does not need to be too large. Fertilize it once a month. You can use fertilizer specially made for succulents. If you accidentally apply too much fertilizer, water promptly to avoid harming the plant's root system.
5. Management
Repot once every 1-2 years. The potting soil should be fertile and have good drainage. Spring, autumn, and early summer are the main growing seasons for the plant, so it should be given plenty of sunlight. Although it can also grow in semi-shade, the area near the growing point will turn dark green, and the black-purple color of the leaves in other parts will also fade, becoming light brown, which affects its ornamental value.
