Cyclamen is also known by the aliases radish begonia, rabbit ear flower, rabbit flower, first-place crown, bonfire flower, rolled-petal lotus, and more. Those unfamiliar with it may call it "xianlaike." It is a perennial herbaceous plant in the primrose family (Primulaceae), genus Cyclamen. So how do you propagate cyclamen?

How to Propagate Cyclamen

Sowing propagation: Collect the seeds, soak them, and plant them in a pot. Keep them moist, and they will germinate in 40 days.

Tuber division propagation: Cut the tuber vertically from the top into small pieces, making sure each piece contains a growth bud, then let them dry and plant them in a pot.

Tissue culture: Select some of its explants, use hormones to induce them to grow into small plantlets, then plant them in a pot.

Cyclamen Growing Methods

1. Soil: Loose, fertile soil is suitable for cyclamen growth. When planting, the potting soil should be sterilized.

2. Fertilizing: Generally, apply once every 10-15 days. When repotting and changing the soil, a moderate amount of base fertilizer can be applied. Fertilizer must be applied lightly and frequently. When summer temperatures are high, stop fertilizing.

3. Watering: During the growing period, keep the soil slightly moist. There must be no standing water in the pot. In summer, if it does not continue growing, you can water normally.

4. Temperature: The suitable temperature for cyclamen in winter is 10-22°C, and the day-night temperature difference must not exceed 10°C. At a nighttime temperature of 8°C, it can bloom normally, but the flowering period will be shortened. If it falls below 6°C, it will be unable to bloom normally
