What to Do When Crops Suffer Herbicide or Pesticide Damage? These Remedial Methods You Must Master
When growing crops, a small amount of pesticide is sprayed because of various pests and diseases, and improper use of pesticides will cause various types of pesticide damage, so what should be done about crop pesticide damage?
1. Spray clean water
If this situation is pesticide damage caused to leaves and plants by sprayed pesticide liquid, and it is discovered in time, when the pesticide liquid has not yet fully penetrated into the plant body, you can quickly spray the affected plants with a large amount of clean water, 2-3 times in a row, and try to wash the pesticide off the plant surface, which can effectively alleviate the continued development of the pesticide damage. At the same time, it is recommended that everyone add 0.2% alkaline powder to the sprayed clean water. Since most pesticides are currently acidic, they will undergo a neutralization reaction when encountering alkaline substances, reducing the pesticide efficacy, so it can accelerate the decomposition of the pesticide and thereby reduce the pesticide damage to the crops.
2. Detoxify with gibberellin plus white sugar
For pesticide damage that has already occurred, and crops have already shown symptoms such as yellow leaves and wilting, we farmers should promptly detoxify the affected crops. For example, for corn and peanuts, excessive inhibition and stagnant growth caused by spraying paclobutrazol at too high a concentration to control vigorous growth, we can promptly spray a gibberellin plus white sugar solution, which can quickly restore normal crop growth. For pesticide damage to grapes and apples caused by copper preparations and Bordeaux mixture, we can spray 0.5% lime water to alleviate it, so as to reduce the harm of pesticide damage to the crops.
3. Herbicide damage
Compared with pesticide damage from insecticides and fungicides, herbicide damage is the most difficult to alleviate. If it is discovered in time or the degree of pesticide damage is low, losses can still be reduced. If it is not discovered in time or the degree of pesticide damage is high, it is very difficult to restore normal crop growth. If crops are found to have herbicide damage, it is recommended that everyone spray gibberellin + indoleacetic acid + brassinolide, diluted 500-600 times for spraying, and spray continuously 2-3 times, which can achieve the effects of alleviation, rejuvenation, and immunity. There is now a plant growth regulator called Bihu that combines the above three, and the effect is the same.
White sugar or brown sugar can improve pesticide efficacy and enhance control effects in preventing and controlling crop pesticide damage. Mixing commonly seen washing powder, table salt, and alkaline powder with pesticides can significantly improve pesticide efficacy and the stability of pesticides, and white sugar is rich in various amino acids, which is more conducive to preventing diseases. Mixing white sugar with Bordeaux mixture can significantly improve the stability of Bordeaux mixture. Adding a little brown sugar when controlling grape downy mildew and anthracnose can significantly improve pesticide efficacy and improve the marketability of the crops.
