How do you treat pests and diseases? The control methods explained clearly in one go
During the growth process of plants, they often face threats from pests and diseases, so how do you treat pests and diseases?
Pests and diseases can be addressed using physical control, chemical control, biological control and other methods, among which:
1. Physical control
There are methods such as black light traps, high pressure, and sun exposure.
1. Black light traps
A black light is a specially made gas discharge lamp that emits ultraviolet light waves of 330-400nm; it is a type of ultraviolet light invisible to humans and has a strong killing effect on agricultural pests.
2. Sun exposure
Because of its heat, dryness and ultraviolet rays, sunlight has a certain sterilizing power and also has a certain effect in removing pests and diseases.
2. Chemical control
Use pesticides for spraying or drenching.
There are many types of pesticides, which by use can mainly be divided into insecticides, acaricides, rodenticides, nematicides, molluscicides, fungicides, herbicides, plant growth regulators, etc.
The type and amount of pesticide can be selected according to the crop type and the type of pest or disease.
3. Biological control
Use natural enemy insects, bacteria and viruses to “fight poison with poison” to achieve the goal of treating pests and diseases.
Organisms used for biological control can be divided into three categories:
① Predatory organisms: including green lacewings, ladybugs, ground beetles, Anystis mites, Amblyseius mites, spiders, frogs, toads, mosquito fish, fork-tailed fish, and many insect-eating beneficial birds, etc.;
② Parasitic organisms: including parasitic wasps, parasitic flies, etc.;
③ Pathogenic microorganisms: including Bacillus thuringiensis, Beauveria bassiana, etc.
