What pesticide works well for coloring cherries?
Cherry is a common fruit in our country, with high nutritional value and a sweet taste, very popular among people, and it is grown in many regions, so what pesticide is used for coloring cherries?
1. Increase the temperature difference
From the coloring stage to the ripening stage of the fruit, keep the daytime temperature appropriately higher and the nighttime temperature appropriately lower, maintaining a day-night temperature difference of 10°C to 12°C, which can promote sugar accumulation and is beneficial for fruit coloring and the increase of soluble solids content.
2. Improve light conditions
Thin out some shading and overly dense new shoots inside the canopy. Lay reflective film under the canopy to add scattered light within the canopy. During the fruit coloring stage, appropriately remove leaves that block sunlight from the fruit, but be careful not to remove too many; after the frost period, carry out ventilation training for 2 to 3 days, roll up the greenhouse film on consecutive cloudy days to enhance light, and if the temperature drops or it rains, cover the film again to increase temperature and prevent rain.
3. Reduce humidity
After the pit-hardening stage, use ventilation for dehumidification, furrow irrigation and hole irrigation under the film, and appropriately raise the greenhouse temperature to lower the relative air humidity, which can increase the fruit transpiration rate, promote the transport of sugar to the fruit, and increase the sugar content of the fruit.
4. Water management
Always maintain the soil moisture content at 60%-80% of the maximum field water-holding capacity. Especially from the fruit expansion stage to the ripening stage, irrigate frequently with small amounts of water, avoiding alternating dryness and wetness, which can effectively prevent cherry fruit cracking before harvest.
5. Foliar fertilization
Starting 2 weeks after cherry flowering when the leaf canopy has formed, spray 0.2% urea plus 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate once every 10-15 days, which can supplement the mineral elements needed for fruit development, especially potassium, which is related to fruit quality, and is beneficial for increasing fruit size and improving fruit sugar content.
6. Open the greenhouse film
For some late-maturing cherry varieties, when the temperature is relatively high before harvest, open or remove the greenhouse film so that the fruit receives 3-5 days of direct sunlight, which can significantly accelerate fruit coloring.
