China is one of the important places of origin of citrus, with many excellent varieties and more than 4000 years of cultivation history. It requires a lot of fertilizer during its growth process and is also prone to pest damage. So, what pesticide should be used for citrus?

1. Citrus canker

Spray to protect shoots and fruit. Choose 77% copper hydroxide wettable powder, 30% copper oxychloride suspension concentrate at 800-1000 times dilution, 20% dichloroisocyanuric acid wettable powder at 1000-1500 times dilution, or 20% quinomethionate wettable powder at 1000-1500 times dilution for spraying.

2. Citrus scab

Chemical spray control to protect young shoots, leaves and young fruit. You can choose 30% copper oxychloride suspension concentrate at 600 times dilution, 40% triadimefon carbendazim wettable powder at 800 times dilution, or 50% prochloraz manganese complex at 1000 times dilution for spraying.

3. Citrus anthracnose

Spray during the young leaf stages of spring, summer and autumn shoots, the young fruit stage and the fruit enlargement stage. Choose 25% prochloraz emulsifiable concentrate, 24% fenbuconazole suspension concentrate, 43% mancozeb suspension concentrate at 1000 times dilution, or 25% bromothalonil emulsifiable concentrate at 500-800 times dilution for spraying.

4. Red spider mite

Do a good job of clearing the orchard in winter, and before bud break in winter or the following year, selectively spray 100 times dilution of machine oil emulsion or 0.8-1.0 degree Beaume lime sulfur mixture.

When the mite population reaches the control threshold, acaricides can be used for control or targeted treatment. Use broad-spectrum pesticides sparingly to protect natural enemies.

5. Scale insects

Strengthen inspection and make sure to spray for control during the peak hatching period of nymphs and the first-instar nymph stage. Generally, spray 2 times from mid-May to early-to-mid June and 1-2 times from August to September for control. Do a good job of winter orchard clearing, prune off diseased and pest-damaged branches and dead branches, and burn them thoroughly. In winter, spray 8-10 times dilution of rosin-soda mixture or 100 times dilution of machine oil emulsion plus 3000 times dilution of organophosphorus pesticide.

As for what pesticide should be used for citrus, you need to first clearly understand its main pests and diseases, then take correct measures for control. Do not use pesticides at random.
