How do you grow papaya to get a high yield? These three points are very important!
For women, papaya is a fruit that beautifies and nourishes the skin. Papaya is rich in nutritional value, with a sweet and crisp taste, and it aids digestion. It is also very suitable for elderly people and children with weak stomachs and intestines, so papaya has always been quite popular, and growing papaya can also bring farmers a profit. But since papaya sells well, how should you grow it to maintain a high yield? Mainly pay attention to the following three points.
1. Pay attention to the choice of planting site
Papaya does not have high requirements for its growing environment, and when planting, the water and soil conditions do not need to be too good. But if you want to ensure quality and quantity and achieve the goal of a high yield, then the choice of soil layer and soil still needs to be careful; the thickness of the soil layer and the fertility of the soil must both be relatively good. During natural growth, papaya is self-pollinating, but in this case the fruit-setting rate will not be very high. So if you want a high yield of papaya, timely interplanting for pollination is very necessary. At the same time, for standardized management, it is best for papaya pollination to be arranged in independent rows.
2. Pay attention to the use of nutrient bags
Papaya planting must not lose at the starting line, so the nutrition of papaya seedlings must keep up. In order for papaya seedlings to grow vigorously during the growing period, nutrient bags are needed for seedling raising, but nutrient bags also have requirements. The specifications of the nutrient bags are best standardized to a diameter of 10 cm to 20 cm and a height of 16 cm to 18 cm; to make drainage easier, a few small holes must also be cut in the bottom of the nutrient bags. In this way, it can both ensure that the organic fertilizer in the nutrient bags has the conditions to decompose and help papaya seedlings fully absorb water and nutrients.
3. Pay attention to the prevention and control of pests and diseases
No matter what plant you are growing, the prevention and control of pests and diseases is a top priority. This is because pests and diseases have a high probability of appearing and cause great damage to plants, making them one of the main factors affecting yield. As for the prevention and control of pests and diseases in papaya planting, spraying pesticides is still the main method. For example, flower rot disease needs to be used together with lime sulfur mixture, brown spot disease needs to be used together with carbendazim wettable powder, the larvae of the large bagworm moth during the hatching period can be sprayed with dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrate, and the larvae of the large bagworm moth during the outbreak period can be sprayed with BT biological insecticide.
If you want a high yield of papaya, from seedlings to plants in the growing period, no link can be ignored. But as long as you plant according to the steps in place, a stable high yield is not a problem.
