What pesticide works well for controlling scale insects?
Currently, scale insects occur in all parts of our country, and the degree of damage is becoming increasingly serious. From southern fruit tree crops such as citrus, lychee, and mango, to northern fruit tree crops such as apple, pear, and peach, none are spared. The scope of damage shows a trend of being heavier in the south than in the north, with damage to fruit trees greater than to vegetables, and damage to flowers worsening. They are the most common and difficult-to-control pests. So what pesticide is used to control scale insects?
1. What pesticide is used to control scale insects?
1. Different periods
During the dormant period of fruit trees, spray 3-5.5°Bé lime sulfur mixture, 3%-5% diesel ES or 5%-6% coal tar ES; during the growing period, use insecticides such as chlorpyrifos 600-fold solution and cuisha 800-fold solution for control.
Spray pesticide during the peak nymph stage of scale insects. Spray once every 7-10 days, for 2-3 consecutive times. You can use 40% omethoate 1000-fold solution, or 50% malathion 1500-fold solution, or 255 imidacloprid 1000-fold solution, or 2.5% deltamethrin 3000-fold solution for spraying.
2. Different targets
Succulents: In relatively few cases, you can use a toothpick to clean them off one by one. Or buy alcohol with a concentration of 75%, then dip a cotton swab in the alcohol and wipe it on the succulent leaves with scale insects. If there are many scale insects or the situation is relatively serious, we can wipe once every three days. Generally, after wiping with alcohol three times, the scale insects can be cleaned off completely.
Flowers: Before sprouting in early spring, spray 3-5 degrees lime sulfur mixture to eliminate overwintering female insects; when they occur, spray 30% acephate EC 300-600-fold solution. Or during the peak hatching period of the first generation (May), spray 0.3 degrees lime sulfur mixture to eliminate newly hatched larvae. When the second generation of larvae occurs in August, spray once more.
