How to Plant Mango Seeds? Detailed Planting Methods and Steps
Mango is a common fruit in daily life, and many people buy it to make all kinds of salads and desserts, and the leftover seeds can also be planted into small potted plants, so how do you plant that mango seed?
1. How to plant mango seeds?
1. Prepare the pit
Buy some ripe, good-quality mangoes. After eating them, gently scrape the flesh off the outside of the pit with a blade, rinse it in clean water, and then dry it in a ventilated, dry place; it will dry in about two days.
2. Soak the seed
Cut open the dried pit from the edge with scissors and take out the seed. At this point, remove the brown outer layer on the surface of the seed; you can gently scrape it off with a small knife, being very careful not to damage the seed. After peeling, put it in clean water to soak. During soaking, change the water every day, for about 4-7 days, so that the impurities are thoroughly soaked out.
3. Sprouting and planting
It will begin to sprout during soaking. Once the seed turns yellow-green, it is ready to plant. When planting, choose a relatively deep pot, add soil and spray it with water so that the surface of the soil is moist. Then poke a few holes of suitable size with your finger, and plant with the young sprout facing up and the root facing down.
4. Watering and care
After planting, you can spread a layer of small stones on top, and also be careful to spray water often, spraying once every 1-2 days, and place it in indirect sunlight for care. In about 4 days, the young sprout will grow out.
2. How do you cut a mango for easy eating?
Step 1: Wash the mango.
Choose a fresh mango and wash it with clean water.
Step 2: Cut the mango into three slices.
With the mango pit as the center, cut once along the left side of the mango pit and once along the right side. Cut the whole mango into three slices.
Step 3: Cut a cross-hatch pattern.
