1. Planting time

The planting time for carrots is divided into two crops, mainly in summer, that is, sowing the seeds in July and August, so that they can be harvested by November. If the open-field temperature is rather low at this time, you can choose mid-to-late March to early April. Sowing too early will correspondingly advance the bolting time, and sowing too late makes waterlogging more likely.

1. It is suitable for growing in loam with deep soil layers and good drainage. For clay land, good and unobstructed drainage must be ensured, which determines whether the cultivation succeeds. Deeply plow the land and apply base fertilizer to ensure nutrition; well-rotted organic fertilizer can be used.

2. Select suitable seeds. Before sowing, soak them in warm water at 37°C. After waiting 12-16 hours, take them out, place them in a cool place to dry, which helps later seedling emergence.

3. Before sowing, rake the soil several times to ensure the surface is level, scatter the seeds on top, and cover with a 1.5 cm layer of soil. To ensure even sowing, you can mix in sand.

4. After sowing, water thoroughly to keep the soil moist so that the seeds are full of vitality. Their seedlings emerge very slowly, and weeds often grow first, so pesticides need to be sprayed to remove the weeds.
