How do you plant the very small seeds of a mango?
1. Selecting the seed and removing the pit
Choose a smaller mango, remove the flesh completely, and wash it clean. Then place it in a shaded, well-ventilated spot to dry.
2. Treating the seed
Cut open the dried mango pit, take out the seed in the middle, and peel off the brown film. Then soak the seed in water, and after 3-5 days, once it has sprouted, it can be planted.
3. Planting in a pot
Choose a deeper pot, fill it with soil, and bury the treated seed in the soil, leaving part of it exposed. Then water it thoroughly and place it in a sunny spot on a balcony to receive light.
4. Watering and care
After planting, you can spread a layer of small stones on top, and also be careful to spray water often, spraying once every 1-2 days, and place it in indirect sunlight for care. After about 4 days, the young shoots will grow out.
Care tips:
Mango is a deep-rooted fruit tree and is fairly drought-tolerant, especially during the flower bud differentiation stage, when it needs appropriately dry soil and weather even more. However, mango flowering, fruit growth, development and vegetative growth require sufficient soil moisture; severe soil drought will inhibit vegetative growth and hinder the production and accumulation of organic nutrients.
