How to Plant Wax Apple Seeds So They Germinate Easily
First select a healthy female fruit, eat the flesh and keep the seeds in the middle. Then wash the seeds clean, soak them in water for 3 days until they crack and sprout, changing the water once a day. Once the seeds have sprouted, they can be planted. The planting temperature is best above 20 degrees; generally about half a month and they will sprout.
The wax apple's usual breeding season is from May to July each year (under natural conditions, because wax apples are often subject to human intervention in fruiting, and they can flower and fruit at any time), and during this period the wax apple will grow seeds; at other non-breeding times it will not grow seeds. During its breeding period, to make the fruit look good, farmers spray no fewer than four rounds of flower hormone (you can think of flower hormone as an abortion drug for plants) to inhibit seed formation. The dose and number of times the flower hormone is sprayed determine how many seeds are inside the wax apple (usually as many as 6-8 when there are many, and as few as 1-2 when there are few). I don't know if you are satisfied with this explanation.
Ecological Habits
An adult wax apple tree is 3 m tall. In Southeast Asia, it flowers once from March to April, the fruit ripens from May to June, it flowers a second time in late July, the fruit ripens from August to September, and in December it still flowers and fruits. The fruit generally weighs 70-80 grams. In Taiwan, China, wax apple cultivation mostly practices production-period adjustment, flowering and fruiting 4-6 times a year, with a yield of 4000-5000 kg per mu.
The wax apple (Syzygium samarangense) likes light; it likes a hot, humid climate, and its optimum growth temperature is 25-30°C. It is not tolerant of drought or cold. It is not tolerant of poor, thin soil, and likes deep, fertile, loose, moist soil.
