There are many types of fruit, and some like bananas, pineapple, sugarcane, pineapple, and coconut are seedless. So, how do you grow fruit that has no seeds?

1. How to grow fruit that has no seeds?

Seedless fruits are generally propagated vegetatively to produce plants, usually by grafting, cuttings, layering, and similar methods.

2. Five common seedless fruits

1. Banana

Banana belongs to the genus Musa in the family Musaceae, and the term also refers to its fruit. It is widely grown in tropical regions. Bananas are fragrant and nutritious, and the plant is a large herb. It originated in southeastern Asia, and is cultivated in Taiwan, China, Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, and elsewhere.

The peel is green; when ripened at high temperatures, the peel is green with yellow, and when ripened at low temperatures, the peel changes from green to yellow and develops small dark speckles (the so-called “plum blossom spots”). The flesh is soft, yellowish-white, sweet, seedless, and especially fragrant.

2. Sugarcane

Sugarcane belongs to the genus Saccharum and is a perennial tall solid-stemmed herb. The rhizome is thick and well developed. The stalk is 3-5 (6) m tall. It is widely grown in southern tropical regions of China such as Taiwan, China, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan. Sugarcane is a temperate and tropical crop and is the raw material for making sucrose.

3. Coconut

Coconut is a plant in the genus Cocos in the family Arecaceae. The plant is tall and tree-like, 15-30 m high. The petiole is thick and sturdy, the inflorescence is axillary, the fruit is ovoid or nearly spherical, and the fruit cavity contains endosperm (the “flesh”), the embryo, and liquid (coconut water). The flowering and fruiting period is mainly in autumn.

Coconut originated in southeastern Asia, from Indonesia to the Pacific Islands, and is cultivated in tropical areas of southern China such as the southern islands of Guangdong, the Leizhou Peninsula, Hainan, Taiwan, and southern Yunnan.

4. Pineapple

The pineapple has a short stem, numerous leaves arranged in a rosette, sword-shaped, tapering at the apex, with entire or sharply toothed margins, green on the upper surface and powdery green beneath, often with reddish-brown edges and tips; the leaves at the top of the inflorescence become smaller and are often red. The sepals are broadly ovate, fleshy, and red at the tip; the petals are oblong-elliptic, pointed at the tip, purplish-red above and white below. The multiple fruit is fleshy. It is cultivated in Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, and Yunnan in China. It originated in tropical America.

5. Chinese water chestnut

Chinese water chestnut, also called matai, has a purplish-black skin and pure white flesh. It is sweet, juicy, crisp, and tasty, and since ancient times has been praised as the underground snow pear. People from the north regard it as the Jiangnan ginseng. The Chinese water chestnut is sweet and crisp in taste and rich in nutrients, containing protein, fat, crude fiber, carotene, vitamin B, vitamin C, iron, calcium, phosphorus, and carbohydrates. It can be used for cooking and can be made into starch.

Because there are so many types of fruit, the sowing methods also differ among different seedless fruit varieties, so everyone needs to proceed according to the actual situation.
