How to tell whether a bamboo rat is pregnant during breeding
1. Look at the nipples. In a pregnant bamboo rat, the nipples look red, the fur on both sides of the nipples turns outward, and the belly of a pregnant bamboo rat is noticeably larger than that of an ordinary rat; you can feel it by touching with your hand. 2. Look at the behavior. After becoming pregnant, the bamboo rat will gather all the dry grass from around into one corner, forming a nest for giving birth.
