On the 21st, a reporter learned from the China Development Bank that the Ministry of Finance and CDB recently jointly issued the "Notice on Innovating Investment and Financing Models to Accelerate the Pilot of High-standard Farmland Construction." The notice states that starting from August, the two parties will adopt two methods, discount interest and subsidies, to support state-owned farms

  • Early indica rice government-support purchases may decline this year

Due to consecutive bumper harvests, combined with the impact of imported rice, the domestic early indica rice market has been weak in recent years; and because the market itself has a relatively small capacity, trends are even weaker during the period in the first half of the year when reserve grain is rotated out in a concentrated manner. This year's new early rice opening price was lower than the minimum

  • Phosphate Fertilizer Market Analysis: May Stand Alone in the Fertilizer Market

Recently, crude oil prices have fallen, affecting many related markets, but the phosphate fertilizer market has maintained a good trend over the past year, and now the months of May and June, when demand was at its lowest, have passed. After this, domestic demand will gradually start up, and even if prices fall, the pace will not be too fast.

  • Selling Grain May Become Difficult Again, and Early Prevention Is Key

Thanks to the incentives of the state's agricultural benefit policies and the impetus of scientific and technological progress, China's grain production has achieved eleven consecutive years of increase. This year's summer grain harvest increased again after overcoming natural disasters such as rainy weather and pests and diseases. Increased grain production and a bumper harvest are cause for celebration, but from

  • Rapeseed procurement pace accelerates, price trend may dip first and then rise

Rapeseed prices have seen a sharp decline since May. On the one hand, new rapeseed gradually came onto the market after May, increasing concentrated supply; on the other hand, as the temporary purchase and storage policy for the new-year rapeseed became clear, rapeseed prices will gradually become market-oriented. Under these two factors

  • Severe Loss of Traditional Chinese Medicinal Material Resources: First-Ever Plan Expected to Solve the Problem

Not long ago, the "Plan for the Protection and Development of Chinese Medicinal Materials (2015-2020)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") was released, proposing that Chinese medicinal materials are a unique and strategically significant precious resource of China, and that it is necessary to adhere to the combination of market leadership with government guidance, the combination of resource protection with industrial development, and the combination of increasing output with improving quality.

  • Rapeseed Production Halved, China May Repeat the Soybean Industry's Mistakes

Anhui is a major rapeseed-producing region in China, and Hefei, Chuzhou and Lu'an in central Anhui are key rapeseed-growing areas. Zhang Yongwen, a large-scale farmer in the area, told reporters that few people there now grow rapeseed, with wheat and rice being the main crops.

  • Domestic rapeseed gradually loses market share, may be dominated by the international market

Currently, the Yangtze River basin is in the peak season for the market release of newly harvested rapeseed. In previous years at this time, farmers growing rapeseed, oil mills purchasing rapeseed and traders would be bustling with activity: farmers actively selling, while oil mills and traders scrambled to buy up the newly harvested rapeseed, and newly pressed rapeseed oil and rapeseed meal had also begun to be supplied to the market in large quantities.

Data released by the General Administration of Customs on the 8th shows that soybean imports in May this year reached 6.13 million tonnes, 15.4% higher than in April and 2.7% higher than in the same period last year. Soybean imports in June are estimated to possibly reach as high as 8.5 million tonnes, a level close to the historical record. The reason for the import growth is that South American soybean production hit a record this year, and soybeans previously contracted for import are arriving one after another.

Because large volumes of imported soybeans arrived in May, and the market expects soybean imports in June to hit a historic high, this has already pushed domestic soybean meal prices down to a new low in 8 years. Lower hog inventories have also hurt soybean meal demand. Analysts pointed out that soybean meal demand this year is worse than last year, and weak soybean meal prices have already led to losses in crushing in Guangdong and Guangxi. In Guangdong, spot soybean meal prices fell to 2,460 yuan per tonne, and some small traders who had previously signed contracts to buy soybean meal at 2,700 to 3,000 yuan per tonne defaulted.
